Samuel Mabbatt financial papers, 1814.

Promissory note (1 p.), dated New York, July 27, 1814 and signed by Samuel Mabbatt, agreeing to pay $188.46 to Peter R. Sprainger in 30 days; and a form letter from Isaac L. Kip, notary of Merchant's Bank, to Smith & Coddington, dated August 30, 1814, stating that Mabbatt's note for $188.46 has been "protested for non-payment."

Isaac⁵ Kip (1732-1815) was the son of Isaac⁴ (Jacobus³, Isaac², Hendrick¹) and Cornelia (Lewis) Kip. He was a physician in Rhinebeck, New York and was married to his cousin Rachel Kip, daughter of Jacob and Klaartjen Van Wagenen. He was a private in the 6th Regiment, Dutchess County Militia during the Revolution and was a signer of the Articles of Association.
